“The food is gorgeous”
We had a meal with our wedding party the night before our wedding at Lympne Castle, and then we had breakfast with a small group the morning after. The ladies at The Bistro were so friendly and funny! The food is gorgeous too. Must visit, highly recommended! – Emily Jones – March 2020
“Delicious roast dinners”
My friends and I enjoyed delicious roast dinners here on Sunday. The desserts were so yummy also. Definitely recommend – Dan – February 2020
“Sunday lunches are the best”
All the staff are a very friendly happy bunch of people who go out of their way to make your experience at the Bistro a most pleasurable one and they try very hard to accommodate any dietary requirements you may have. Their Sunday lunches are the best. I certainly can highly recommend the Bistro! – Rosemarie Hoad – August 2019
“Food and service exceptional”
We got married at Lympne Castle on a Monday 15th July and arranged an evening meal at The Bistro for all guests staying in the area on the Sunday night, 27 people in total. They opened up especially for us and served some amazing food, everyone was very impressed and the staff were brilliant!
We also had breakfast there on the Monday and Tuesday mornings and had food sent to one of the cottages where all the ladies were getting ready prior to the wedding.
Every time we have eaten there the food and service has been exceptional and we can’t recommend them highly enough.
Thank you so much for all you did – Graeme Hastings – July 2019
“It was superb”
I just wanted to say how much my friend and I enjoyed the Opera evening last night, It was superb. From the drink and lovely canapés on the terrace to the wonderful- veggie- meal in the interval, we loved the food. The setting and the singers were wonderful and your team were so friendly and welcoming. We were so unsure of what to expect – but it was a joy. Thank you so much for all your hard work and we look forward to visiting the bistro when it opens – Miss Curtis

“It made our day even more perfect”
Just a quick email to say thank you for catering our wedding at hayne barn house on Saturday 26th July. The picnic baskets were more amazing than we could have ever imagined. The presentation was wonderful, everything looked amazing and really fitted in with our theme. All of our guests thought the baskets were a lovely idea and they were all very impressed. The food was just amazing!! My family is one that appreciates their food and they were all going on and on for days about how delicious the food was. The quiche was amazing as was the beef and the chocolate brownies.. Well wow they were gorgeous. We are so glad we booked you to do our food it made our day even more perfect. We will 100% be coming to your restaurant when you are all built and open.

I urge all of you to find and eat in this little slice of heaven. Tucked away off the main Dymchurch road on the way to Burmarsh (well signposted), is this amazing and unexpected little shrine to food heaven. We have now introduced at least 50 friends to Haguelands and all of them are nothing short of amazed at the variety, imagination and quality that are flawlessly delivered in this little gem of a restaurant. The restaurant is only open for lunches (including Sunday), but it is worth missing out on dinner just to eat there (as we often do). Food is cooked in front of you, as the kitchen is in the middle of the restaurant. There is a good range of local beers, wines and ciders along with a really friendly, welcoming unfussy atmosphere.

We went here for lunch on the recommendation of friends and thoroughly enjoyed the experience. It is only a small bistro and we were the only ones eating a slightly late lunch, but others were just having coffee. The menu was fabulously different from the usual fare offered. The kitchen is open plan and in full view – I watched the chef making my beetroot tart tatin from scratch so was quite happy to wait just those extra few minutes for it to cook and be served. My husband was equally happy with his choices. The portions were more than generous – we had two courses and probably did not need them. Ingredients and wine all locally produced; ample free parking immediately outside. We will return.
